Synopsis
During the bustling Qingming Festival in the capital city of Bianjing, an unusual case draws the attention of Zhao Bu You, a low-ranking official known for his cautious and observant nature. What initially appears to be an isolated mystery soon reveals connections to a much larger conspiracy.
Together with his wife Wen Yue and several companions, Zhao Bu You begins investigating a series of strange incidents hidden beneath the prosperity of the capital. Each clue leads them deeper into a web of secrets involving influential families, officials, and forces operating behind the scenes.
As the investigation progresses, the group discovers that the seemingly ordinary people and events depicted in the famous Qingming painting may hold clues to a dangerous mystery. Their search for the truth brings them into conflict with powerful figures who will do everything possible to conceal the past.
Balancing family responsibilities with the dangers of their investigation, Zhao Bu You and his companions gradually uncover the hidden connections between the cases.
