Synopsis
The story follows Su Shi—also known by his pen name Su Dongpo— across six decades of his remarkable life.
Beginning in his youth, Su Shi travels with his younger brother to the capital to participate in the imperial civil service examinations, marking the start of his journey into officialdom.
Renowned for his literary brilliance and outspoken nature, Su Shi rises to prominence as both a government official and a cultural icon. However, his career is marked by political struggles, exile, and repeated setbacks due to his views and conflicts with powerful factions.
Despite these hardships, he continues to produce timeless works of poetry, prose, and calligraphy, leaving a lasting impact on Chinese culture.
