During the peaceful era of the Daming Dynasty, Yuan Mo, an ordinary commoner from Changle City, becomes entangled in international affairs after a fateful altercation with A Shu, a refugee. The incident results in Wang Kun Wu’s punishment and Yuan Mo’s reassignment to the Four Square Pavilion’s western office. There, he begins a new chapter of his life surrounded by complex politics and foreign diplomacy.
Joined by A Shu, his sharp-witted maidservant, Wang Kun Wu, his superior officer, and Yu Chi Hua, a formidable ally, Yuan Mo faces trials that test his courage and intellect. Though mocked as “useless,” he steadily matures, uncovering hidden plots and forming unexpected bonds while defending peace and justice for his land.
