In the year 1914, a ship sailing across the far seas was attacked. Accused of colluding with the pirates, second officer Bai Zhu Sheng must overcome countless obstacles to clear his name.
As the sole survivor of the tragedy, Bai Zhu Sheng becomes the prime suspect. His once-promising life falls apart—his fiancée abandons him, and he is imprisoned for crimes he didn’t commit. While serving time, he meets a gang of chivalrous thieves who teach him new skills that will one day change his fate.
After his release, Bai Zhu Sheng redeems himself by saving the passengers of a British merchant ship in Hong Kong, earning him knighthood. Under the alias Burong Bai, he returns to Shanghai years later to embark on a path of vengeance and justice.
