Synopsis
During his PhD studies, Shu Ren falls deeply in love with his junior, Sun Shu. Just as their relationship begins to blossom, a sudden family crisis forces Shu Ren to abandon his academic path and disappear without explanation. Left confused and heartbroken, Sun Shu later leaves for Japan to continue her studies, believing their story has ended.
Five years later, fate reunites them at Si Kang Hospital. Shu Ren, now working there, desperately hopes to mend their broken relationship. However, Sun Shu greets him with cold distance, unable to forgive the pain of his unexplained departure.
As Sun Shu’s mother falls seriously ill, the two are forced to interact closely once again. Through shared responsibilities, emotional confrontations, and professional challenges, buried feelings slowly resurface. At the same time, Shu Ren struggles with long-standing guilt related to his mother’s death, which has deeply affected his confidence and mental health.
With patience and understanding, Sun Shu helps Shu Ren confront his inner demons. Together, they learn how to heal not only their patients, but also themselves—discovering that love can be both a wound and the cure.
